Keyfund, working alongside Virgin Money are making free enterprise workshops available to young people across the region. Unemployment across the North East is currently a whole 2% higher than the national average and with all the problems surrounding employment and increasing university fees, young people are faced with challenging questions surrounding their futures.
But there is another option. Enterprise is often overlooked or only considered an option for those with a brilliant new idea.
Keyfund are offering a series of workshops designed to introduce enterprise and raise awareness of the options available.
The Enterprise project offers young people the opportunity to build confidence and look at enterprise as an alternative to mainstream careers. There are 2 different opportunities available, the first being a short 2 hour session to discover ‘What Enterprise is?’ or alternatively a 45 minutes condensed ‘Enterprise brainstorming workshop’.
Both sessions will explore the skill sets of entrepreneurs and different perceptions of the topic. Also, the participants will be given the chance to get creative and develop their own enterprising ideas. For young people, this is a great chance to develop and show off their ideas and uncover skills they may not have realised they had.
The enterprise project is free of charge and open to young people/ school leavers aged 16 – 25 with an interest in enterprise. They do not have to be part of a Keyfund group to take part.
Our Newcastle event will take place at Newcastle College on the 20th Feb in our fantastic media bus!
The sessions will run all day from 1.30pm until 4.30pm.
If you know a group of young people interested in enterprise or you are a young person interested in or want to know more, please contact email@example.com or call (0191) 261 4029 to register for the event.
If you have approximately 20 young people who are interested, we would be happy to hold a ‘What is Enterprise?’ workshop at your venue for this group.
We will also be running draws to win some great prizes, so to be in with a chance of winning, register with us and come along to the workshop!
