Join Fresh Element at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art on Sunday 5 May 2013 for an evening of toe-tapping live music and laugh out loud comedy at the first Jack in the Jukebox event.

The event kicks off at 4pm with a roaring BBQ with DJ and Live Percussion sets from Lauren Archer and David Olatunji. Fantastic music acts plucked from the UK’s circuit start at 7pm and include four-piece ‘barberpop’ girl group Scarlet Street, the energetic post-punk inspired So What Robot, alternative rock Ambershift, female trio Iceni, guitarist Peter Skeen and The Entertainment Company who are guaranteed to have everyone dancing by the end of the night.

The hilarious Nicola Redman will take to the stage with her take of family life and other random musings while Scott Tyrell will have your sides-splitting with his quick-witted mix of comedy and poetry.

The evening will be compered by local funnyman Steffen Peddie who recently starred on our TV screens as Big Keith in the north-east based comedy Hebburn.

The line up for Jack in the Jukebox is put together by audience nominations from Fresh Element’s facebook page at www.facebook.com/freshelementltd. For those that would like to submit a nomination simply ‘like’ Fresh Element’s facebook page and submit the name of the act with a link to the acts website. Fresh Element will also use the event itself to gather ideas from the audience to use at future Jack in the Jukebox events. All acts will be considered, anything from DJs and bands to comedians and poets including anything wildly different.
