The winners of the 2014 North East Contact Centre Awards were announced during an evening of glitz and glamour on Friday 21 November.
Rainton Meadows Arena played host to hundreds of guests at this year’s Oscar themed event which was organised by Sunderland City Council.
After weeks of deliberation the judging panel of seven declared Barclays call centre the winner of the ‘Over 250 seats’ category whilst London and Country Mortgages took the trophy for the ‘Under 250 seats’ title.
Other key awards included Customer Service Superstar, collected by Sarah Leach from AXA Insurance, Contact Centre Adviser of the Year picked up by Paul Markey from Virgin Money and Brightest New Star awarded to Becky Scales from Sage Pay.
Cllr Paul Watson, Leader of Sunderland City Council commented: “Our region’s contact centres are among the best in the world and will continue to go from strength to strength with such a successful work force behind them. These awards are a great opportunity to highlight achievements, celebrate success and raise the profile of the sector – well done to all the winners.”
