THOUSANDS TO VISIT NORTH EAST EXPO

Businesses heading to the North East Expo networking event can expect to hear from one of the region’s biggest hitters and biggest losers.
Guest speakers at the huge networking event include the North East’s former World boxing champion Glenn McCrory who will be joined by Sunderland ’s winner of the ITV show ‘The Biggest Loser’ Kevin McLernon.
More than 220 companies will be exhibiting at the next North East Expo which will take place at Newcastle Racecourse on Wednesday November 7. Based on previous expos, businesses can expect to mingle with around 2000 visitors.
Both Glenn McCrory and Kevin McLernon will be telling their inspirational stories combined with a business twist. They will be joined at the event by UK speaking champion Simon Bucknall along with several other speakers who will be talking about social media, motivation and creating impact.
Kevin explained he will be giving an insightful workshop on a journey through hope, despair, euphoria and sadness as he shed weight under the eye of TV cameras.
He said: “I was running a successful business but putting my health at risk as I piled on the pounds. Something had to change and it did. The weight-loss experience is certainly one that has carried over into my business life. Losing the weight was all about setting targets and goals and not achieving things overnight.
“In business it is important, no matter what the size of the company, to have a clear plan and a route map of how to get there.”
The North East Expo event is free to attend but registration is recommended via the website.
North East Expo is now a major event on the region’s business calendar having run twice a year for the last three years.
Event organiser Lorraine Gordon said: “It just seems to get bigger every time as word spreads across the region. We have businesses large and small from across the North East attending and this time we are hoping to break the 2000 attendees mark which would be great.
“Events like this cut through the doom and gloom out there and prove that the North East really is open for business.”
