Sunday 28th April 2013
PEOPLE HAVE THE CHANCE to zip wire across the river Wear to raise funds for charity.
The opportunity to zip wire from the giddy heights of Wearmouth Bridge across the river to land on the southern side at Pans Bank, comes on the same day as thousands of runners take to the streets of Sunderland.

Councillor John Kelly, Portfolio Holder for Public Health, Wellness and Culture said; “We are very proud to stage events such as the Marathon of the North, the Sunderland City 10k and this year for the first time, the new Half Marathon of the North. Being able to zip wire over these events will add an extra element of fun and exhilaration to what already promises to be a memorable day.
