Have you ever wanted to make music? How about big, loud, fabulous beats in the streets and parks for the summer festival season?
Then why don’t you come along to the Jack Drum Arts Youth Music half term samba workshop week?
You will have the amazing opportunity to work with 2 of the most exciting musicians – Hannabiell Sanders and Yilis del Carmen Suriel, as well as the Jack Drum Youth Music team. Together we will work to create a high-energy samba drum / brass fusion music extravaganza ready to take to the streets!
WORKSHOPS – Wednesday 28th, Thursday 29th, Friday 30th and Saturday 31st May
TIMES – 10.30am until 4.30pm (please bring a packed lunch)
REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCES
Sunday 1st June rehearsal in Newcastle for Vamos – time tbc
Saturday 7th June performance at Vamos in Newcastle
Saturday 14th June Durham Regatta
Friday 11th July at Big Brass Bash in Crook
Sunday 13th July Our Big Gig at Bishop Auckland Castle
With many other performance opportunities in the pipeline
COST – £20 for the week, which includes costume for performances and travel to all rehearsal and performance venues around the region throughout the summer.
NB: We have a number of free places for those who are unable to afford the £20 fee so please get in touch with the office to discuss.
