newcastle artists window sweden campaign - Newcastle Art Exhibition to collaborate with Sweden

Art exhibition in Newcastle (UK) and Gothenburg (Sweden), The Artist’s Window, reaches two-thirds funding in Crowdfunder campaign aiming to raise £1325 for site-specific artwork in the windows of an English terraced house and Swedish apartment.

Organised by Newcastle artist Frances Arnold, and supported by UK curator Hannah Marsden and Swedish artist Johanna Adeback,

The Artist’s Window brings installations by Arnold and Swedish artist Ylva Trapp to the streets of Newcastle and Gothenburg in February 2015.

Frances Arnold, artist and organiser of The Artist’s Window, said “I believe that art can be part of the environment we live in to create extra-ordinary places. Exhibiting in the windows of these two homes enables us to share art with every passer-by and bring a bit of wonder into the public spaces we inhabit every day.”

Frances Arnold added: “Reaching over 65% in our Crowdfunder campaign is so exciting and demonstrates the public interest in supporting art in the community. Join us at www.crowdfunder.co.uk/The-Artists-Window”

Crowdfunder is the UK’s largest rewards-based crowdfunding network having launched more than 4000 projects and raised over £2m – helping people make their great ideas a reality.

Crowdfunder works by offering the crowd the opportunity to pledge to a project in return for a reward.

There are only 12 days left to donate. The Artist’s Window are offering a range of rewards in return for donations from an original drawing by project organiser and artist Frances Arnold (£500) to digital prints of original sketches by each artist (£30).
