jimmawdsleygenerator - Bridge Club North: FIRST event, As You Like It, 12th March 2013Jim Mawdsley CEO of Generator & Festival Director of Evolution Festival. Jim has operated as an independent music promoter in the North East since the mid eighties. He has events that range from 50 capacity pub gigs, 2,000 capacity venues, to 10,000 capacity dance events in arenas. Over the last ten years Jim has concentrated his promoting efforts on outdoor events and he is Festival Director of the successful Evolution festival in Newcastle Gateshead which sees a bank holiday weekend attendance of 50,000 people over the 2 days over the event. Jim is also CEO of Generator, the UK’s leading Music Development Agency which seeks to build and strengthen regional music business and identify career paths for, and develop the commercial viability  of artists. As part of his national role he Chairs the Music Industry Development , was a member of the DCMS sponsored Live Music Forum and chaired the sub group, which made recommendations to ministers on how the Live Music sector could be developed. Jim is also currently an active board member of The Association of Independent Festivals and has been a Board member of Culture North East and the Newcastle Gateshead Cultural Advisory Board.
