Confused by Facebook’s Timeline?

Facebook 300x225 - Confused by Facebook's Timeline?I don’t know about you but I find all the changes to Facebook totally confabulating. I’m just getting used to one set of changes to the layout and they go and alter it all over again. I try not to take it personally… But the latest change seems to be the biggest yet. Have you seen it? Heard about it? Got it?

It’s called the Timeline and it means a total and utter change to your own profile on Facebook. Not only that either. The changes are many and varied and I just know they’re going to leave my head spinning and my social networking alter ego begging for mercy. Ok, so the changes do seem to  be confined to the personal side of things but apparently, I have it on good authority, the changes will have a bearing on business pages too.

So. In my recent networking activity I’ve met a couple of lovely ladies who are running a workshop on this very subject. They’re incredibly knowledgeable and promise to explain such things as the subscribe button, audience selector, smart lists, ticker feed and activity logs. Also under the spotlight will be the all-important privacy settings and the impact that all of these have on business pages.

Amy Purdie of Whiteacres Design and Jacqueline Brewster of Chatterbox Social Media will be running the workshop on Tuesday 7 February (yes, that’s tomorrow so get moving!) at Tedco in Jarrow from 10 am until 11.30 am. Refreshments will be provided and the tickets are available for the bargain price of £25. So what are you waiting for?

Once again:

What? Unveiling Facebook’s New Timeline – workshop
When? Tuesday 7 February 2012 – 10-11.30 am
Where? TEDCO Ltd, NE32, South Tyneside
Who? Whiteacres Design and Chatterbox Social Media

To book your ticket, visit the workshop’s Eventbrite page and follow the instructions you’ll find there.

The event is open to anyone with an interest in Facebook as long as you can take along your own laptop and (if you have one) an Internet connection cable to link up to a modem. All OK? Why not give it a go then?

If, like me, Facebook’s Timeline is leaving you more than a little cold, get yourself along (you can book your ticket here) and conquer the little blighter once and for all – and you might just meet some other lovely North East business people while you’re there.
