Join Workpattern for their ‘Made For Sharing – Workplace Wellness’ event in Gateshead 14th October at the Northern Design Centre.

Workpattern, based in Newcastle, was created to provide a local touchpoint and resource centre for designers and their clients, a place/hub to experience new ways of working.

Workplace Wellness: Creating a Win Win!

  • Technology is both improving and hindering productivity
  • Stress Has become the number one reason for absenteeism with IT overload an increasing concern
  • Focus and acoustic control is becoming the main concern for office workers, costing business £139 billion per year in lost productivity
On the 14th October join us and industry experts at The NDC where we will uncover the latest research and explore some answers to this growing dilemma and problem facing the workplace. Whether it’s the changing workplace, changing devices, a changing workforce or all three, we all want and deserve to work where we can be most productive whilst also relaxed.
Jim Taylour, Orangebox, Head of Workplace Wellbeing, Walkie Talkie Seminar:

Wellness is a word that is rapidly gaining usage across the world and whether wellness manifests in healthy environments, support for healthier and more active lifestyles, increased social interaction or encouraging cultural and spiritual expression, there is a groundswell towards CRE solutions that enhance the health and happiness of occupants, ultimately with an expected payback of better performance and productivity benefitting the organisation.

Following on from his work on the Mobile Generations research paper, Jim will focus on the growing trend for ‘Mobile technology and new ways of working’ exploring issues such as ‘No-phono-phobia’ the fear of leaving your phone at home and the ‘Always on’ generation who answer/read emails before they clean their teeth in the morning.
Ron Corbett, Sound Matters:

Our research suggests that 77% of employees require quiet in order to focus. Poor acoustics therefore is a costly business and as much as £139 Billion according to a recent article published by the financial times.
Ron will share with us his own research on acoustics – What acoustical comfort is? Why is it so important and how to deliver it?
For the first time at Made for Sharing, there will be the opportunity for a hands on experience with some furniture items designed specifically for an agile workspace, all courtesy of Orangebox.
