For the second year running, the Giant Poppy is on display in The Cleveland Centre from until the 11th November 2013.
Veterans from The Royal British Legion from the area will be running a stand selling poppies ahead of Remembrance Sunday. The stall is situated outside WH Smiths in the Centre.
Last year, over £11,500 was raised providing much-needed funds for the Royal British Legion. The charity is the UK’s leading Service charity and provides care and support to serving members of the Armed Forces, veterans of all ages and their families.
Centre Manager Debbie Anderson comments “We are delighted to welcome back the marvellous veterans who give their time to help raised much-needed funds which go towards supporting serving and ex-members of the Armed Forces. There are a lot of men and women, past and present from the area who have given so much in service and we are proud to help raise awareness of the Poppy Appeal.”
The giant poppy is situated outside WH Smiths and a minute’s silence will be held on both Sunday 10th and Monday 11th November.
