Great North Dog Walk
Sunday 9th June 2013
The Great North Dog Walk, founded by Tony Carlisle 23 years ago, is the world’s largest dog walk, attracting tens of thousands of dog owners and their pets each year.
The 2013 edition will take place on Sunday 9 June from 9am to 3pm (last entry) on the Leas in South Shields, opposite the Bamburgh Public House.
People can register on the day or online at www.greatnorthdogwalk.co.uk to take part in the internationally-renowned charity day.
Entry is free and open to everyone wishing to take part. This year, bring as many dogs as you like.
All walkers will receive an action kit at the start, including a poop scoop and a route map. Once finished, they will receive a certificate.
For the second year running, the event is sponsored by Pets at Home www.petsathome.com/
Paul Marsh, store manager for Pets at Home in Washington, said: “The Great North Dog Walk is a truly fantastic event for dog owners and one we’re very proud of here in the North East. My team and I have a great relationship with Tony and we’re all thrilled to once again be part of the day. June 9th can’t come soon enough!”
