The very best of British comedy will descend on Tyneside this June as Jesterval Comedy Festival returns for its fourth year.
With over 40 shows in a star-studded line up, Jesterval 2016 will take place in a 300‐seated marquee on Baltic Square, at the heart of the Gateshead Quays development, from the 3rd to the 12th of June. Chance to win tickets (see below).
Paul Foot, Gary Delaney, Sofie Hagen, Steve K Amos, Matt Reed, Jen Brister, Tom Binns, and Gavin Webster are just some of the standout names in the programme, released online today.
BBC stars Stephen K Amos (Live At The Apollo) and Paul Foot (Never Mind The Buzzcocks) will be performing hour-long shows as well as taking part in an opening gala show.
Sean Kelly star of the hit show Storage Hunters, will also be bringing his solo stand up show to the banks of the Tyne. And we are delighted to be joining forces with Northern Pride this year, to programme an LGBT Gala as part of Jesterval, which will also form part of the Newcastle Pride 2016 festival.
Ticket prices for the Festival range from £3 to £15, and there are also a number of free performances.
With shows from Jarred Christmas, Sophie Willan, Jonny Pelham, Nicola Mantalios-Lovett, and Lauren Pattison, to name just a few, we have acts to suit everyone’s tastes.
There’s plenty of family entertainment too, with kids’ shows and activities taking place at the weekends.
Jesterval programming director and comedian David Hadingham said: “With each year we find ourselves putting together a programme of comedy events that just gets better and better. While it’s great to get big name TV acts, we’re also proud to be able to put on 10 days of comedy that we know is fantastic quality and that comedy fans will enjoy and remember.”
Tickets are on sale now.
