Made in Tyne and Wear, the region’s only dedicated television channel is now available on Sky Guide 117, making it available on all three main television platforms.

Broadcasting on Freeview channel 8, Virgin 159 and now Sky Guide 117, Made in Tyne and Wear transmits 24 hours a day with a schedule of locally-made shows alongside programmes shared across the Made Television network. Its evening news programme ‘Bulletin’ transmits at 6.30pm and 9pm, followed by a nightly entertainment magazine show called ‘The LowDown’.

Among its other programmes are a weekly food programme ‘Northern Cuisine’ with chef and pop up restaurant guru Gareth Kyle, who will be touring the region sourcing food to celebrate local producers and ‘Straight Talking’, a twice weekly debate show hosted by Anna Foster. Also showing on a Monday evening at 7pm is ‘Inspire’ which will showcase Arts and Culture from across the region.

There are also two chat shows called The Week and The Lighter Side, hosted by Peter Grant. Peter invited me on the show two weeks ago as a guest alongside Bill Oldfield. It was a very fun experience.

Station Manager, Tony Hazell said: “The response since the launch earlier this month has been fantastic. We’ve had lots of people enquiring as to when it will be available on Sky and now we can officially say we’re available on all three platforms, Virgin, Freeview and Sky which is great news for the people of Tyne and Wear.”

Made in Tyne and Wear is part of the Made Television network which holds the licences for 5 local areas/cities, Bristol, Cardiff, Tyne and Wear, Teesside and Leeds.
