City TV channel, Made in Tyne and Wear is welcoming same-sex couples to apply to take part in a new dance competition to be shown this October.

MADE on the Dancefloor will see five couples compete to be crowned the MADE On The Dancefloor Champion following eight weeks of training and competitions shown each week on the channel’s popular magazine show, The Lowdown.

Station Manager, Tony Hazell said: “Despite reluctance from other TV stations, Made in Tyne and Wear is proud to offer the opportunity to all sectors of the community to take part in our new dance competition. We’re looking for members of the public who have never competed professionally and who are keen to learn and challenge themselves each week.  With The Lowdown team on hand there’s guaranteed to be plenty of laughs, glitz and glam. We can’t wait for the show to start.”

The couples will be trained by professional ballroom teacher Stuart Hatton, Mr Gay World 2014 and the current Mr Gay UK, and judged in a grand final on Friday 10th December by a panel of celebrities and audience members.

Members of the public can apply to take part in the show by going to:
