The region’s very own The Lady of the North will be welcoming Maggie’s Newcastle centre users and supporters to their site next month to take part in a sponsored walk.
Northumberlandia is the venue of the walk on Saturday April 26, offering a scenic, family friendly 4k walk, which will help the centre continue to support people living with cancer in the North East.
The human landform sculpture is set in Cramlington, and stands 100 feet high and is a quarter of a mile long.
The walk, which starts at 9:30am, will allow families, friends and children take in the scenery and views Northumberlandia offers.
A family Registration fee is £20, or individuals can join in for £6, and Maggie’s is asking all walkers to raise what they can in sponsorship.
Centre Fundraising Manager, Kelly Knighting-Wykes, said: “Northumberlandia is a fantastic sculpture designed by Charles Jenks, Maggie’s Husband. We hope to sign up as many people as possible to join us at this fantastic event and help raise as much as we can so we can continue to offer support to our visitors when they need us most.”
