Northern frontrunners first 5k gay run a few weeks ago

We recently held the North East’s first Gay 5k Fun run just before the Northern Pride Event. We had over 100 runners and a 100 spectators. Our event was for both professional and amateur runners regardless off their ability. The event was a good start to the Northern Pride event that was held on the same weekend.

Our race was held in Leazes Park and the course used all parts off Leazes Park which included going around the lake. We also have 10 stalls from different organisations from all parts off the community. We are hoping to hold the event next year and attract even more runners. The winner did the race in 14.30 Minutes. We established NorthernFrontrunners after visiting other successful Frontrunner events in Glasgow and Manchester and could see it would be popular in the North East. We run on a Wednesday night from Gosforth swimming pool.

We cater for all part off the LGBT community and cater the running around the person’s ability and we leave none one behind. If you are interested and like more information on NorthernFrontrunners check out our website www.northernfrontrunners.co.uk.
