Helping the local community through music has always been at the heart of The Bunker in Sunderland, therefore on Saturday the 19th and 26th of October they are putting on Sounds for HIM. The Bunker are inviting in men exclusively from the North of Sunderland to take part in their free Djembe drumming workshops with the aim to engage men in music and the health benefits that music can offer.
As part of the Djembe Drums Workshop participants will learn how to play the specialist drums via a range of different exercises and activities taught by a professional tutor.
As well as making sure everyone has a fun time The Bunker will be providing information on Men’s Health Awareness via talks and demonstrations. There will also be possible guest speakers on the day as well.
Hannah Matterson, who is responsible for The Bunker’s Sounds for HIM workshops spoke about their importance, “The workshops will be a great and alternative way to access information and raise awareness for men’s health through what will be a fun and practical activities”.
