Chris Barrie, Caroline Munro and Craig Charles lead a galaxy of big names at the Northeast’s biggest sci-fi collectors show.
‘Screen-con’ will be returning to North Tyneside on Saturday 12th October with a Halloween spectacular, ‘SCREAM CON’, and there’s a host of special guests already confirmed for the show – from Hollywood stars to sci-fi heroes, cult favourites to horror legends.
Among the attractions, based at The Park Hotel in Tynemouth, is a movie and TV prop museum, including an army of the dreaded daleks and Doctor Who’s TARDIS.
Movie and TV guests at the show will include:
- Chris Barrie – Red Dwarf, The Brittas Empire, Tomb Raider, Spitting Image – a comedy legend who needs little introduction.
- Caroline Munro – Best known for her role as an iconic Bond girl in The Spy Who Loved Me and in cult British horror film Dracula AD 1972, with Christopher Lee.
- Craig Charles – Most famous for playing likeable slob Dave Lister in Emmy Award-winning sci-fi sitcom Red Dwarf and ‘Coronation Street’.
- Dave Prowse – Dave played the role of Darth Vader for the entirety of the original Star wars trilogy. Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange, Gilliams Jabberwocky, and played alongside Peter Cushing in Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell.
Other guests include Pam Rose (Star Wars, Superman, Space 1999), Nick Vince (Hellraiser) and Hugh Ross (Nightbreed, Trainspotting), among others.
Costumers will be raising money for various good causes and there will be prizes on the day for the best costume and a children’s art competition.
