A unique film and opera production The Answer to Everything is coming to Teesside University for one night only on Saturday 1st February.
The funny and uplifting 70-minute film and music experience stars Streetwise Opera’s homeless and ex-homeless performers alongside professional singers. Audience members are invited to join in as conference delegates and learn a hilarious corporate exercise routine in the cheeky, satirical take on big business.
Streetwise Opera run weekly opera workshops for homeless people in the North East with Hope North East (Middlesbrough), Changing Lives (Newcastle) and from April 2014 will create a new group at mima which will be open to formerly homeless people and the wider community.
The University has also bought 60 tickets which we are distributing to local community groups and charities who might not otherwise come to see the performance.
Film plot
Corporate confidence appears sky-high at the Locateco Solutions conference, but as music gradually overtakes the business speak, cracks begin to appear. Do the delegates really have ‘the answer to everything’?
As the action moves between stage and screen, the audience is invited to take part as conference delegates in this cheeky, satirical look at big business
It features new music from contemporary composers alongside music by Britten, Handel, Vivaldi, Gounod and Schumann.
