AV Dawson National Business Awards - Teesside Business Wins National British Business Award

Teesside logistics business AV Dawson won top honours at the prestigious British Chambers of Commerce Awards (BCC) held in London last night (24 November 2016).

The category awarded to the company was the best business for excellence in customer service.  This accolade recognised the multi-million-pound investment in its operations which has created a state-of-the-art steel distribution centre and transformed how the business can manage its clients’ products.

AV Dawson head of marketing and business development Charlie Nettle who was presented with the award with Neil McShane, head of rail services said:” We are very proud to have represented the people of the North East at this awards and won.  It is recognition of the partnerships with our customers such as Nissan and TATA Steel.

“The UK Steel industry has had a tough time but by working in partnership we are succeeding.  Innovation, commitment, resourcefulness and grit ‘has got us through some challenging times over the last 78 years, but it’s also provided us with a strong foundation on which to build a sustainable, customer-focused business. As a Teesside business we are very proud to bring this national prize to the North East.”

AV Dawson was supported in its bid to be the top customer service company in the country by the North East England Chamber of Commerce.

James Ramsbotham, chief executive of the Chamber said: “AV Dawson is an outstanding operation which has embraced change in a dynamic and practical way to ensure their clients get the very best logistics service they can.  Their attention to detail is second to none from the minute products arrive in their care to it leaving.  They are a massive asset to the whole North East business community and a thoroughly deserving winner of this award.  On behalf of all our members I congratulate them wholeheartedly.”

Also in the final, from hundreds of national businesses who applied, were fellow Chamber members Cundall, Labman Automation, South Training and Connection Retail.
