The iconic and controversial Spanish City in Whitley Bay is to host the biggest event in its history, before it finally closes for redevelopment.
A group of local Actors, Musicians and Dancers have formed a not-for-profit company to stage a 10-day festival, taking in the Dome complex and the new Spanish City Plaza.
They will be joined by top-quality professional acts to provide a spectacular start to the School Holidays. Artists appearing include Martin Stephenson, Hannah Rickard and the Relatives, The Keelers, and North East legends Prelude.
Cloud Nine Theatre Company will be performing 2 new plays, and Day8, fresh from their triumph with Les Miserables, will also perform.
Yorkshire artist John Watterson is the amazing Fake Thackray, a stunning tribute to the late and much-loved humourist.
Whitley Women, Mouths of the Tyne, and Bay Vox provide choral elements to the Festival, and Vieux Carré Jazzmen bring another dimension to the proceedings.
There will be free entertainment during each day of the Festival, and tickets for the evening events are available now only from the website, together will the detailed programme of events.

“We want to acknowledge the support we have received, from performers, volunteers and the Council in putting together this very ambitious Festival.”
