Exhibition – New Works By John Edwin Wigston and Robert Watson, on until 15th March at Hartlepool art gallery.
This is an exhibition of two celebrated and respected local artists who have come together in this joint exhibition to show new works.
Robert Watson is a former Head of Creative Studies at Hartlepool Sixth Form College. His fascination with drawing and print media finds appropriate subject-matter in the northern landscape and powerful forms of Durham Cathedral, Newcastle and aspects of traditional heavy industry across the region.
John Edwin Wigston’s work has been influenced heavily by his fascination of transport especially railways. He has sailed to New York and back on the Q.E.2 as artist in residence and after being involved with H.M.S. Warrior. When being resorted in Hartlepool, his marine painting took on more importance.
