9 -17 May 2014, any self-respecting Fashionista will already have the dates marked firmly in their diary, NE1’s Newcastle Fashion Week, is an event not to be missed.
This is the 4th year that NE1 Ltd has hosted the A-list event and each year it gets bigger and better with more catwalks,retail offers, exclusive VIP events and a healthy smattering of celebrities thrown in for good measure.
In previous years TV presenter, Caryn Franklin of Clothes Show fame, together with designers Wayne Hemingway and Scott Henshall have all been involved in hosting events during the week, with the after show parties attracting the likes of Dizzee Rascal; Black Eyed Peas and international music superstar, Will I. Am, together with fashion designer, model and musician, Diana Vickers all helping to put Newcastle firmly on the fashion map.

Even before the week gets underway the fun starts with NE1’s 4th annual search for the city’s Most Stylish which runs from 10 April – 3 May.

Even before the week gets underway the fun starts with NE1’s 4th annual search for the city’s Most Stylish which runs from 10 April – 3 May.
On Thursday 10th April, a team of NE1’s style scouts and fashion photographer will be out and about on Northumberland Street on a quest to find the city’s most stylish. If the weather is inclement, the team takes the search indoors into intu Eldon Square. Thursdays will see the team take to the streets from 5.30pm to 7.30pm and on Saturdays from 12 – 2pm.
Those photographed will be in the running to be crowned Newcastle’s Most Stylish with their chance to win a £500 VIP shopping spree at designer boutique, Cruise and a weekend hire of a Mercedes Benz convertible from event sponsors Mercedes Benz Newcastle. Photos will be uploaded to NE1’s Newcastle Fashion Week Facebook page with the public encouraged to ‘like’ their favourite with the Top Ten judged by fashion industry experts.

The fashion festivities begin in earnest with a day of catwalks. This year, NE1 has teamed up with fashion magazine, Company to host a series of catwalks in the luxurious surroundings of the Assembly Rooms.

The event gets underway at 12 noon with Company Magazine presenting the very best of fashion from Newcastle, with two shows, 12 noon and 2pm charting the fashion alphabet from A-Z. Fashion features duo, Carlene Thomas-Bailey and Alexxia Elizabeth from Company will be presenting the catwalks and casting their fashionable eyes over the collections. The daytime catwalk events are ticket only with entry costing £3 per person
At 8pm, the focus turns designer when Company magazine presents Vivienne Westwood with Cruise at the VIP invite only event, followed by an after party at Bonbar.
