2016 alnmouth art festival - 2016 Alnmouth Arts Festival 18-19th June

The 12th annual Alnmouth Arts Festival will take place on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 June 2016. The line-up of artists and events for the weekend have now been finalised.

Artists

75 artists from Northumberland and local art groups will be exhibiting and selling their work in 21 venues throughout the beautiful coastal village of Alnmouth. Along with artists that have appeared at previous festivals there are many artists who are making their first appearance at the festival. The artists work in a range of media and disciplines covering painting, drawing, printmaking, glassware, wood working, ceramics, textiles, photography, jewellery, decoupage and digital art. Please visit the 2016 Artists page to see details of which artists are appearing. Venues will be open from 10 am until 5 pm.

Activities in the Park

Throughout the weekend there will be events for both adults and children taking place in Pease’s Park. During the day on Saturday and Sunday children will be able to join in with art activities. On Saturday there will be three performances of a Punch and Judy Show and also prize giving for winners of the children’s postcard competition. On Sunday morning children from Warkworth First School will be singing and on Sunday Afternoon children from both Warkworth and Hipsburn First Schools will accompany performances of the story “To Catch a Hummingbird” and there will also be performances by the dance group Dansformation. On Saturday evening between 5pm and 9pm there will be live music from Hugh Dunford and Jazz Band Swing Street. There will also be a bar in the marquee with real ales from Credence Brewery and prosecco. Throughout the weekend there will be food and drink in the park supplied by Hot Hog Heaven, North Shore Coffee and an ice cream van. For more details and the full timetable of events click here.

Alnmouth Skiff

Alnmouth Bay Community Rowing Association will again be opening up their boat shed by the Alnmouth Bay beach to visitors who can view their skiff “Pride of Aln”.

Getting There

A park and ride facility is available throughout the weekend with parking costing £1.50 for the whole day and a free shuttle bus operating into the village. Parking is located on the left of the B1338, approaching Alnmouth, between Hipsburn roundabout and the Duchess Bridge, immediately after Hipsburn School.
