A newly established accountancy firm which was launched in May 2014 is so successful that it is has already appointed another member of staff.
And the company, Kevin Lee Accountants – which has been set up by award-winning accountant, Kevin Lee, (former Director at Harlands Accountants), is making it a family affair, with the appointment of his son, Tom.
Tom was so impressed by his dad’s business that he decided to give it a go too. He has always dreamed of running his own company and with the help of his dad will fulfill his dream.
The Consett based firm, has generated so much business in the first few weeks that it needed an extra pair of hands to cope with the increasing client workload. So, Tom, 21, has been appointed to help run the fast growing firm.
Kevin said: “Tom has just graduated from University College London (UCL) and was looking for a career in accountancy. He was so impressed by my success that I persuaded him to follow in my footsteps.
“He has always wanted to be his own boss and is really excited about it and I will be here to give him guidance and support. Tom joined us on 1st June and is already making an impact on the business.
“It’s a competitive environment and clients like the idea that we are family run firm – as they know that they will get a dedicated and personal flexible service. It has always been an ambition of mine to set up my own business so that I could choose the precise level of service for my clients.
“I am delighted my son is joining me. He is talented and enthusiastic and is committed to working with me to deliver a first class service for our clients. He will be a great asset for the business.
Since the business was established a few weeks ago, Kevin Lee Accountants has taken on 15 new clients and is looking to significantly grow its client base in its first year.
Kevin is proud of the firm’s early achievements. He commented: “We provide added value service for clients and adopt a partnership approach – offering significantly more support to our clients than simply producing a set of statutory or sole trader accounts.
“We also look very closely at their tax position, helping companies to plan their future and identifying ways of stimulating and delivering business growth.
“We can also help them take financial control of their business by implementing the most appropriate and effective accounting software such as Xero and we are very active in helping our clients raise finance to support business growth.
Tom added “I’m really enjoying working for dad’s firm and I feel the time was right to join the business. I have started my accountancy training so I can become a fully qualified member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. I relish the challenge of making my dad’s business successful which will secure the family business long into the future”
