Free Outdoor Employability Course for Unemployed this Sept

A FREE 7 day Outdoor Employability Course is continuing from its launch in August and is starting another on Wednesday 24th September for unemployed adults within the Tyne and Wear area.

The course is designed to put a spark back into people’s lives, increase motivation, learn new skills and move people into the labour market.  The course uses a mixture of challenging outdoor activities, teamwork and information workshops to help build people’s confidence, motivation levels, employability skills and inspire people back into employment.  Certificate of Achievement awarded at the end of the course.

All the necessary outdoor equipment, minibus transport, insurances and professional instruction are included.

Activities can include rock climbing, canoeing, mountain biking, hill walking and kayaking. 

Each outdoor activity starts at 9am and finishes 5pm.

Course is spread over 3 weeks.  Wednesday 24th September 1-5pm,  Thursday 25th September 9-5pm,  Friday 26th September 9-5pm,  Monday 29th September 1-5pm,  Wednesday 1st October 9-5pm, Friday 3rd October 9-5pm and Monday 6th October 9-5pm.

Meeting at:  Wayout in Gateshead (WinG)  based in Low Fell, Gateshead.

Working in small groups of 8 people.

Participants must take part in all 7 days.

There will be an Open Day on Monday 22nd September anytime between 10am – 3pm for professionals and individuals to find out more about the course and how to enrol.
