The Britain Has Spirit national shortlist is now officially open. The two shortlists are made up of the most deserving individuals and groups across the regions and have been voted for by you, the public. Our regional winners are now ready for your vote to become the official national winner. So get ready to show them your support!
The national winners of Britain Has Spirit’s ‘Community Initiative of the Year’ and ‘Community Hero of the Year’‘ prizes will be awarded an amazing £25,000 each, to put towards a local good cause in their community. This could help maintain a village green, build a new playground or keep a community project for the elderly up and running for another year.
Taking part is easy. Simply click on the category and vote for your favourite. Don’t forget to share your choice via Twitter and Facebook and make sure your top choice gets the full support the deserve.

More information on ‘Out Of Sight’ charity
“Out of Sight support visually impaired children living in North Tyneside. They provide bespoke events, suitable for their needs. There is no other facility in North Tyneside that provides this work we undertake – free events, during school holiday periods to include the children in the community. We are inspired to make it better for the families we support, give them a break, let them enjoy good times with their children and make life long memories – we are inspired to give them that, so they can enjoy their family life, make memories, be spirited and rejuvenate them.”
