Stanley Events has today announced that their Riverside Fireworks festival has changed dates, and will now take place on Sunday 6th November, rather than the previously advertised Bonfire Night.
After consultation with Durham County Council, as well as the local community, Stanley Events has concluded that it is in the best interests of everyone concerned that the event be put back by 24 hours.
Carl Marshall, director of Stanley Events, said: “We would like to reassure customers that this decision has been taken with consideration of local residents and to take into account a long-established display at Chester-le-Street Cricket Club. Everything else about the event remains the same, and regional support for the Fireworks Festival has been great. We’ve sold loads of tickets and we’d recommend that anyone who hasn’t got theirs yet buys them as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.”
This is the first Riverside Fireworks festival, and the event will climax with a 25-minute, superhero-themed fireworks’ display, all choreographed to music. The full evening of entertainment will also include a fun fair, live music, food and refreshments, plus a superhero fancy dress competition!
£1 from every ticket sold will be donated to The Fire Fighters Charity and Durham Agency Against Crime.
The gates of Riverside Park, Chester-le-Street, will open at 5pm on the 6th November and the display will kick off at 7pm. Standard tickets cost £5, and children under 6 go free! Limited on-site car parking will also be available, but this must be booked in advance via the website.
Tickets for Riverside Fireworks are on sale now, and are available from www.riversidefireworks.co.uk, and for more information, and updates on entertainment, you can also find details on Facebook at www.facebook.com/RiversideParkFireworks.
All previously purchased tickets remain valid, and if refunds are required, customers are advised to contact info@stanleyevents.co.uk.
Refunds must be applied for by the 30th September 2016.
