sunderland mini fun run 2015

ON SATURDAY 2 May the Active Sunderland BIG Mini Fun Run is set to launch the Active Sunderland BIG events programme 2015 by making being active fun.

With a focus on fun running for all the family, the Active Sunderland BIG Mini Fun Run offers the choice of a one mile or two mile circuit of the city’s Mowbray Park which is especially suitable for young participants. The longer two mile route is a new addition for this year! The BIG Mini Fun Run is a wonderful opportunity to take part in a running event on the same weekend as the Sunderland City 10k and Half Marathon.

Councillor John Kelly, Sunderland City Council’s Portfolio Holder for Public Health, Wellness and Culture, said: “The Big Mini Fun Run is one of many fantastic running events for people of all ages and abilities happening in Sunderland across that weekend. Along with the half marathon and Sunderland City 10k runs, this event gives a great opportunity for those with younger families to come along and take part in a healthy and most importantly, fun way.

The Big Fun Run is especially suitable for families, of any age or ability, as everyone can take part by either running, jogging or even walking and toddling.
