The lights are on! We were there along with 15 000 people who attended last night’s festivities. Where we welcomed Gus Poyet, Head Coach of Sunderland AFC and the mayor of Sunderland to switch on the city’s Christmas lights.
The evening kicked off the start of the Christmas programme and after the Switch On event, thousands of people enjoyed the Christmas Village in Market Square and the illuminations in Mowbray Park.
