Workshop: Dealing With Conflict
4 September 2013 (Gateshead)
17 October 2013 (Gateshead)
Course Overview
This is a one-day highly interactive and results-oriented workshop where participants will learn how the way they handle conflict affects their performance. Utilising the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI) tool, including completing an assessment to establish their personal conflict mode, participants will understand their default approach in conflict and be encouraged to explore alternative ways to handle different situations.
Who will benefit from the course?
A wide range of audiences, from entry-level employees to senior team leaders and executives.
Why should you attend the course?
The Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI) is the world’s foremost conflict management tool which helps people identify their preferred conflict-handling style and learn when and how to use the five different modes – competing, collaborating, compromising, avoiding, and accommodating – effectively. Understanding their own and others’ conflict behaviour provides them with new conflict management tools and techniques, putting them on the road to faster, more creative conflict resolution.
What will you gain from the course?
- Become more aware of your own conflict style.
- Recognise the conflict styles of others.
- Be able to assess conflict situations.
- Become familiar, through practice, of using different conflict modes and generate specific tactics for conflict resolution.
- Increase self-awareness, refine existing skills and develop new skills.
