The PLAYHOUSE Whitley Bay is excited to inform parents, that it will be hosting a variety of children’s events, in the coming summer holidays. Martin Bloomfield of Circurama will host the two PLAYTIME events, with a Circus Skills workshop and more!
Occurring weekly through the summer holidays, from Tuesday 21st July, every PLAYHOUSE PLAYTIME event will commence with a one hour welcome session in the foyer. Children will enjoy giant games, an arts and craft corner and the chance to tickle a tarantula, take a selfie with a centipede and meet Sumo the giant tortoise, from our friends at ‘Creatures Up Close.’
In the Circurama event, your little nippers (with a recommended age of five plus) will become mini circus performers and will take part in a circus demonstration and games session, followed by a circus skills workshop. Together children can explore balance, rhythm, timing, and hand eye co-ordination whilst developing confidence, dexterity and performance skills! Circus activities explored include throwing and catching, manipulation and balancing skills. These include juggling scarves and balls, spinning plates, diabolos, flowersticks, and learning to balance on a unicycle!
The day closes with refreshments for all children and a fantastically fun performance of new-found skills acquired in front of an adoring crowd (you, their plus ones!). The Circurama events are guaranteed to encourage confidence, creativity and personal growth within a fun environment for your little ones. Why not come along in a Circus themed fancy dress!?
Further PLAYHOUSE PLAYTIME events will take place in the form of a Mister Twister magic show on Tuesday 28th July and Tuesday 11th August, and a Princess versus Superhero themed event will take place on both Sunday 2nd and Monday 24th August.
