Fashion InDurham will be four days of fashion-fuelled fun from 26-29 June in Durham City – perfect for any fashionista!

You can look forward to catwalks in the Market Place, a Thrift Fair in the Gala Theatre and Live Mannequins around the City! With a series of exciting fringe events taking place across the four days too, there really will be something for everyone at this year’s spectacular fashion event.

The Programme

Thursday

The Evening Soirée at Woven
On Thursday 26th June, Gentlemen after a bargain can take advantage of the Evening Soirée at award-winning retailer Woven. Starting at 6.30pm the evening will include a drinks reception by Wiff-Waff, music from DJ Pete Wharrier plus discounts, giveaways worth hundreds of pounds, and a prize for the best-dressed man.

Tickets cost £5 and are redeemable against a purchase on the night and you’ll also get a ‘Goodie bag’ worth at least £30. Tickets are available from the shop in The Gates, at www.wovendurham.co.uk or by calling 0191 374 1002.

Friday

Jewellery Event

We all know diamonds are a girl’s best friend and we’ve also got a fantastic evening planned for the ladies too. On Friday, 27th June, why not head to Millennium Place to see the latest jewellery fashion? The evening will start with a drinks reception where you’ll be able to see live mannequins modelling jewellery from stores such as Pears Boutique and Marla Jones Jewellers.

Entry is free but the event will be ticketed. Keep checking back for details on how to get your tickets.

Saturday & Sunday

Catwalks
Fashion-lovers will be able to get a glimpse of the latest trends from a range of stores thanks to the Fashion InDurham catwalk shows.

On Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th June, more than 20 retailers, including Next, M&S, Top Shop, SuperDry, Woven, Sorella and Mugwump, will be showcasing the latest trends they have on offer

There will be three events each day running from noon until mid-afternoon in the Market Place.

The Saturday shows will be focused on casual fashion for a younger audience while the Sunday shows will focus on outdoor fashion.

Models with a mixture of professionals from local modelling agency Boho/TyneTees Models and volunteers chosen by our team here at BID from entrants to the Face of Fashion InDurham competition.

This is also your chance to see the winner of ‘Face of Fashion inDurham’ 2014. Elise Taylorson, 16 from Newton Aycliffe beat hopefuls from across the county to win the competition and will be taking part in the catwalk shows in the Market Square on both Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th June.

Celebrity
Former Big Brother winner turned hairdresser Anthony Hutton will also be appearing as our star guest on both Saturday and Sunday, acting as compère during the catwalk shows, and even styling one of the models himself.

Sunday

Thrift Fair in the Gala Theatre
You don’t have to break the bank to cut a dash and on Sunday 29th June the fashion fun moves to the Gala Theatre.

Bargain hunters are in for a treat as our new Thrift Fair takes over all three floors of the theatre between 12 to 4pm. There’ll be workshops showing you how to upcycle your old outfits to get the most value from them and stylists showing you how to make the most of charity-shop chic.

Oxfam will be holding a kilo sale where you’ll be able to buy clothes by weight and you can get a makeover from staff at Durham-based hair and beauty salons Katusha, Miracles, Rusty’s and Marmaris.

Entry is £1 on the door.

Bring the kids along too; there’ll be face painting, a helter-skelter and the chance to build-a-bear.
