Business Northumberland are delighted to announce three times gold medallist Stephen Miller together with his wife Rachael as supporters of ‘Start your Business Exhibition’ on the 26th April.
Stephen and Rachel themselves are Directors of their fledgling consultancy company Smile through Sport, which has benefited from the free support provided by the Business Northumberland initiative in the form of information, events and business mentoring. Stephen will be speaking about his career and how he has successfully overcome adversities, inspiring local entrepreneurs and businesses to do the same.
Business Northumberland offers established and start-up businesses in the county free support in reaching their full growth potential. It is a free service that provides business advice and support to anyone thinking about starting a business in Northumberland and also offers business coaching to existing businesses with growth ambitions.
Business Northumberland is jointly funded by Arch, The Northumberland Development Company, Northumberland County Council and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
Speaking about the event, Stephen said: “We are delighted to be speaking at the Start Your Business event and also to have been asked to be brand ambassadors for the Business Northumberland campaign.”
“It is a great initiative which has helped us massively through our business journey so far thanks to their events and mentoring service. We are looking forward to meeting aspiring and proven Northumbrian entrepreneurs at the event.”
The exhibition hosted by Business Northumberland is set to include numerous seminars from key speakers and successful Northumbrian entrepreneurs. A host of further speakers and exhibitors including Barclays, Prince’s Trust and the Northumberland Arch Digital Team.
A packed seminar programme will run during the day, subject topics covered include:
- Franchising, Marketing on a Budget,
- Show me the Money – a guide to Grants and Finance,
- Closing Sales with Top Tips
- and a thought-provoking motivational session , “Seize the Day – you Can be your own Boss”, presented by Stephen Miller.
Smile Through Sport aims to create increased awareness, opportunity and ultimately enjoyment in disability sport throughout the North East of England. Rachael and Stephen provide a range of services based around their three key themes of Inspiration, Education and Enjoyment which will be echoed at the Start Your Business event.
