triathlon pink sunderland - Sunderland turns Pink for Triathlon, Sunday 29 June

This Sunday 29th June, the ladies of Sunderland get their chance to experience what hundreds already have as the third event of the Triathlon Pink series hits town.

The women’s-only triathlon series launched here in January 2014 following the very successful Australia series, which has raised over AUD$1 million for breast cancer research since it began in 2006.

Triathlon Pink is targeted at women of all fitness abilities, ages and backgrounds who train for fitness rather than competition. The appeal for women is that anyone can complete one of the distances with a short preparation.

Triathlon Pink UK is more than just an event, it will enhance the lives of women in the UK and for some it will be a life changing experience.

The first two events have been enormously successful with many amazing stories emerging of women achieving goals they never thought possible.

Lisa Pringle, Director of Sport 3 Event Management UK said, “We were thrilled with how the first two events have gone and delighted to now bring the series to Sunderland,” said Ms Pringle.

“It’s been amazing to see so many women accomplish goals they never thought possible and now Triathlon Pink will continue to capture the imagine of many more British women,” she said.

Triathlon Pink UK has partnered exclusively with Breakthrough Breast Cancer as their official charity and will work with the women of Britain to meet the goal of raising £1 million by 2018.

Triathlon Pink has already raised £18 million after the first two events and well on the way to the target in 2018.

For anyone that wants to experience the thrill of a Triathlon Pink event you can still enter on the day.

While the focus is on the ladies event we do have the Triathlon Pink Kids event available for anyone that wants to have a go at a swim, bike, run event. It’s all about participation and the distance of 50m swim, 1.5km cycle and 500m run is within the capacity of most kids to achieve.

Registrations for all remaining 2014 Triathlon Pink UK events are now open at www.triathlonpink.co.uk
